The first Shatranj build was not about adding another way to move pieces online. We already had plenty of those. The missing part was the person on the other side.
With video on, a game has pauses, reactions, and a proper ending. You can laugh at a blunder, explain what you were calculating, or stay for five minutes and review the position together.
That does not mean the camera should always be on. Some games need focus. Some players simply do not want to be seen. Video works best as an invitation, not a requirement.
What we are trying to get right Camera and microphone controls that are easy to find A clean board when you want to concentrate A natural way to continue talking after the game Reporting and blocking that never feels buried
The board is still the centre of the screen. Video is there to remind us that a real person made the move.
